The Foodservice channel presents a significant growth opportunity for Fonterra, with 50% of all food expenditure now occurring in this space. The globalisation of key industry channels has reshaped the market landscape in recent years—a trend expected to continue. Among these, Bakery and Casual Dining stand out, with particular emphasis on Asian bakery and Full Service Restaurants (FSRs) targeting the pizza/pasta occasion. Strategic coordination and focused efforts in these channels will be critical to driving the growth of Fonterra’s Foodservice business in Indonesia.

We are excited to announce a brand-new and high-impact opportunity for a Business Development Supervisor to join our team on a permanent basis in medan, coverage area Sumatra island, Indonesia.
This role has the responsibility of supporting the execution of the national distribution strategy and managing key accounts in our significant growth areas.
Key Accountabilities Include:
Management And Leadership
- Develop key account plans that ensure the delivery of the customer needs
- Lead the embedding of e-detailing in area Sumatra
- Ensure the required customer planning processes are implemented
Support the development, execution and delivery of value add growth strategies with NKA customers
- Gain an understanding of the customer business drivers and use these to develop clear growth initiatives.
- Build and maintain relationships with key influencers and decision makers with the strategic NKA account base
- Monitor competitor activity (those of the customer and of Fonterra) and use competitive intelligence in the development of growth initiatives
- Develop an “execute with excellence” culture; both in sales calls and trade marketing activity
Support the execution of annual business plans to deliver and exceed annual volume targets
- Accountability for the strategic customer base in area Sumatra
- Negotiate contracts and pricing for new and existing business.
- Monitor and manage performance against established KPI’s
Deliver exceptional customer service and operational standards
- Maintain an overview of customer interfaces and promote efficient customer service.
- Align distributor and Fonterra expectations.
- Maintain an overview of the 3-6-month customer demand and share these demands for the appropriate business forums.
- Work closely with the operation and distributor teams to ensure growth plans can be supported
Mōu | About you
Education & Experience
- Diploma/Academic majoring in culinary.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a chef, ideally within the hospitality industry.
- Experience as a Chef Technical Advisor for foodservice products is highly desirable.
- Key Account management experience in leading and managing effective relationships with key customers.
- Consistently deliver outstanding performance and results.
- Demonstrated skills in coaching and mentoring employees to achieve performance and potential.
Other Key Attributes Include:
- Financial Acumen - ability to interpret and use company financial statements.
- Negotiation and Selling skills – proven ability to position proposals to key customers and closing sales.
- Presentation and Communication skills – strong presentation and communication skills (oral and written)
- Understand in English (oral and written)
