Whatever your background, and whatever your goals, we'll help you take the next step towards a better future.
You will work as part of the IT department, reporting into the Head of IT, which is part of the broader Technology, Transformation and Resilience function of around 400 technology professionals

What Will You Be Doing?
As the Senior Cloud Platform Owner, you’ll be the driving force behind unlocking the full potential of our Azure ecosystem—showcasing its transformative impact across the organisation and for our members. You’ll create a platform that’s not just resilient, secure, and scalable—but frictionless for engineering teams to innovate, build, and deploy solutions that truly matter. With a dynamic and complex change portfolio in play, your mission is to champion the cloud as a strategic enabler—connecting platform capabilities directly to business outcomes and member value. Your focus will span three high-impact domains
Cloud Strategy & Vision:
Craft and evolve a forward-looking cloud adoption roadmap rooted in our purpose and mission. Be the voice of Azure—demonstrating its business value, advocating its future potential, and cultivating a culture of continuous improvement that delivers real enhancements.
Platform Health & Governance:
Own the operational heartbeat of the platform. Ensure it runs like clockwork—scalable, secure, compliant, and cost-optimized. Build and lead a Cloud Centre of Excellence that unites stakeholders around best practices, governance, and member-centric value
Leadership & Capability Growth:
Lead Platform and Product Owners, and matrixed engineering teams, to deliver on strategic goals. Elevate internal capabilities, mature our cloud operations, and foster a culture of continuous learning, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration.
What Do We Need From You?
We’re looking for a visionary leader who can ignite passion and purpose across technology teams—someone who builds a bold, inspiring vision that connects technical excellence with real-world impact for our members. You’ll be the kind of leader who makes engineers love what they do and understand why it matters.
To thrive in this role, you’ll bring deep experience in owning and operating enterprise-scale cloud platforms—ideally Azure—and leading organisations through transformative journeys that blend cutting-edge technology with meaningful cultural change.
This is more than a leadership role—it’s a chance to shape the future of our cloud ecosystem and the people who power it. The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven leadership experience of technology teams, driving technical excellence and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Experience of improving the delivery of value, flow and quality through embedded systems thinking, agile, lean and devops practices to accelerate delivery.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to work across teams to build a shared vision and roadmap for value generation for members and internal platform consumers. Ability to influence outside of own function.
- Experience of managing an enterprise scale cloud environment involving ownership of overall environment health and resilience, large budgets and operational risks. Good understanding of operational resilience needs in the context of large technology platforms supporting critical business operations in a regulated environment.
- Experience of cloud centre of excellence implementation with demonstratable knowledge from inception through to ongoing operation and oversight.
- Experience of managing significant supplier relationships, working in partnership to derive value from the relationship and identifying mutual benefits.
