Job Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of financial record-keeping for multiple established businesses while making a meaningful impact through cleanup and optimization work. You’ll be instrumental in correcting previous bookkeeping errors, implementing proper financial processes, and maintaining accurate records across diverse business types. This role offers excellent experience working with various industries and the satisfaction of building solid financial foundations from the ground up.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile accounts across multiple business entities with different operational models
- Clean up and correct historical financial records, including fixing misclassified expenses and account categorizations
- Record and manage all financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and payroll processing
- Create and maintain proper charts of accounts tailored to each business type
- Prepare comprehensive balance sheets and financial statements
- Perform regular weekly or bi-weekly reconciliation and maintenance tasks
- Ensure accurate expense categorization and proper account classification across all entities
Requirements
- QuickBooks certification required with demonstrated proficiency
- Proven experience with US-based bookkeeping practices and standards
- Ability to efficiently manage multiple companies simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail, especially for cleanup and correction work
- Experience with automotive and/or healthcare industry bookkeeping strongly preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently
- Commitment to maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines consistently
