Job Summary:

The Division of Pediatric Surgery is recruiting for a full-time (1.0 FTE - 40 hours per week) Business Services Program Manager to join the administrative leadership team

The position will manage the day-to-day operations for the Division of Pediatric Surgery administrative group including a high degree of independent decision-making on direction, workload and troubleshooting of issues within the Division. Working under the Division Administrative Director (DAD), the Business Services Program Manager will direct various business functions including, but not limited to: operations, human resources, finance, faculty affairs, research, and communications. The Program Manager will work closely with the Division Chief of Pediatric Surgery and DAD to support implementation of the Division’s operational, financial, and strategic plans, and advise on process improvements and changes in policy and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the primary/initial point person for information and questions related to all Division activities for all faculty and staff
  • Directs the function of administrative team, including two direct reports and indirect reporting of Education Coordinator
  • Serve as primary liaison and Division’s subject matter expert with DOS and SOM Human Resources Shared Services (HRSS) for posting and processing of faculty and staff positions, hiring processes, onboarding, termination, and other HR-related functions.
  • Responsible for completion of all additional pay processes including extra shift/differential pay, call pay, incentive pay, and miscellaneous transactions, including serving as primary approver of transactions submitted by administrative team. 
  • Provides oversight for and approves the entry of financial transactions submitted by administrative team for payroll transactions and general ledger transactions (JE’s).

Work Location:

Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting, healthcare administration, public administration, or a directly related field from an accredited institution
  • At least 4 years of professional level experience (healthcare leadership, financial reporting and accounting/transactional financial work)
  • The position requires extensive, diverse and progressively responsible experience, including direct responsibility for all aspects of business operations management and financial reporting/transactions in a large and operationally divergent structure.
  • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Management experience in complex, matrixed organizations, particularly in academic medicine or healthcare.
  • Experience with HCM, Salesforce, Smartsheet, Taleo, and related HR/administrative systems (e.g., hiring, position management, HR transactions, time collection, Concur, A2E, CU Marketplace).
  • Advanced certification or master’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or related field.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to utilize data analysis to generate accurate and actionable financial and operational insights
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated Financial Acumen.

  • Strong experience with Excel and ability to communicate and explain findings to business and academic professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide oversight of purchasing, accounts receivable/payable, reimbursement processes, and resulting transactions.
  • Ability to create and perform complex analysis of financial reports (Excel and similar databases).

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $72,617-$92,369, with compensation commensurate upon experience.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
