Job Purpose: As the Survey Lead, the incumbent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating survey activities in adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all mines. Their role encompasses conducting monthly surveys and quarterly reconnaissance surveys, ensuring accurate and timely data collection to meet the survey requirements of the mines. Additionally, they provide technical support for Greenfield projects, including boundary demarcation, land possession scheduling, topographic surveys, and the generation of comprehensive topographic reports. Furthermore, the Survey Lead collaborates closely with the mine planning team, offering expertise in map preparation and public plan development.
Job Responsibilities
Survey Lead - Mining
Survey Coordination And Monitoring:
Strategize and coordinate monthly surveys in all mines, ensuring compliance with established SOPs and standards for data collection and accuracy.
Validate plans and review all factual data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with project objectives.
Address survey requirements specific to each mine and blocks, collaborating with stakeholders to resolve any issues or discrepancies.
Greenfield Project Support:
Mentor survey support for Greenfield projects, including boundary demarcation to establish the perimeter of the mining area
Provide comprehensive support to the project team by preparing and organizing the necessary documentation required for submitting applications and securing approvals.
Supervise and advise land possession activities in coordination with landowners and regulatory authorities, ensuring legal compliance and smooth project execution.
Develop topographic surveys using advanced surveying equipment and techniques to gather detailed elevation data for project planning purposes.
Exploration Survey Management:
Generate topographic and surface maps based on survey data (including not limited to documenting the terrain features, elevation profiles, and other relevant information)
Utilize specialized software and tools to process survey data and create accurate topographic maps and drawings.
Collaborate with engineering and design teams to incorporate topographic data into mine planning and infrastructure development projects.
Mine Planning Support:
Mentor the mine planning team in the preparation of maps and public plans required for regulatory approvals and stakeholder engagement.
Provide technical expertise in survey data interpretation and mapping software utilization to ensure the accuracy and reliability of planning documents.
Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate survey data into mine design and development plans, optimizing resource utilization and operational efficiency.

- Complete all Survey activities for Forest Clearance approval, Land Acquisition & Mine opening permissions for project and complete all the survey activity related to operational Mine.
- All the duties and responsibilities mentioned under CMR-2017
- Preparation of maps for Application of FC, EC and Land Acquisition, survey of CA land wherever required. Knowledge about DGPS survey is desired.
- Preparation of Project infrastructure on surface map for the project development.
- Active participation for measurement of plots of land sellers and liaison with Tehsil surveyors
- Preparation of Land schedule and cadastral map and maintaining the record related to all the survey work.
- Coordination with DFO, Revenue authority, DGMS etc.
- Volume Calculation, Pit updating, Dump Management. Stock Measurement.
- All kind of survey required for Operational Mine and updating of Maps.
- Hands on experience of computerized software like Autocad, MS Office, Google Earth etc is desired.
- Hands on experience on Total Station or other surveying equipment is desired.
- Experience of surveying in underground coal mine and all statutory compliances.
Qualifications:
Essential: : Surveyor's Certificate Issued from DGMS
Desired. Mining diploma Diploma in Mine Surveying
Work Experience:
12 -15 Years’ Experience (at least 3 years’ experience in UG coal mine)
