Job Overview:

The Field Operator plays a vital supporting role within the operations team, by assembling, preparation, transportation, and basic testing of field equipment used in oil and gas projects. Operating under the supervision of the Field Specialist or Field Engineer, this position ensures that equipment is correctly assembled, safely transported to well sites, and ready for installation and operation.

The role involves direct interaction with physical equipment and requires adherence to strict safety, quality, and compliance standards. While the Field Operator focuses on hands-on operational support tasks, they contribute significantly to the overall efficiency and reliability of field operations by maintaining equipment integrity, supporting timely reporting, and ensuring safe work environments..

Job Resposibilities:

  • Perform mechanical and electrical assembly of field equipment using tools, machinery, and equipment as per standard procedures.
  • Conduct pre-deployment checks and basic functional tests at the Weatherford facility to ensure equipment is operational.
  • Ensure the availability of tools, spare parts, and consumables needed for equipment assembly and field deployment
  • Safely load, secure, transport, and offload equipment to and from customer well sites.
  • Operate forklifts, cranes, and other lifting equipment where certified, or assist in their operation under supervision.
  • Assist the Field Specialist or Field Engineer with equipment installation at the well site.
  • Perform basic function tests and assist with troubleshooting during installation and commissioning activities.
  • Support operational readiness checks under direct supervision.
  • Accurately complete required forms, checklists, and reports related to assembly, transportation, field installation, and job performance.
  • Submit activity logs and incident reports in accordance with company standards and operational protocols.
  • Maintain equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition—both at the base and in the field.
  • Assist in basic inspection and identification of wear or damage to components using measuring tools (e.g., rulers, calipers) under supervision.
  • Follow all operational procedures, job safety analyses (JSAs), and risk assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with Weatherford's HSE standards, quality policies, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Promptly report any safety, equipment, or operational issues using the correct escalation channels.
  • Comply with operational and safety procedures throughout all stages of the job cycle.
  • Actively participate in toolbox talks, shift handovers, and operational planning meetings as required.
  • Maintain effective communication with the Field Specialist, Field Engineer, and other crew members.
  • Collaborate closely with operations, maintenance, and logistics teams to ensure job success.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • Field operations support (preferably in oil & gas or industrial settings)
  • Equipment Handling: Ability to perform basic maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of equipment
  • Critical Thinking and Active Learning: Ability to follow instructions, apply active learning, and demonstrate critical thinking in solving simple problems.
  • Reading and Writing Skills: Ability to read and follow technical manuals, procedures, and safety documentation. Basic English skills
  • Time Management: Demonstrates punctuality and ability to manage tasks within assigned timelines.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including manual handling and operating tools and machinery.
  • Problem Recognition: Strong analytical thinking and ability to break down complex problems
  • Tool Handling and Assembly: Developing ability to understand how tools and products should be assembled, repaired, or modified through guided learning and practice.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Good communication skills to interact effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Driving License – B, / Optional C, CE 
  • Optional Forklift and Crane operator 

Travel Requirement: This role may require domestic and potentially international travel of up to:  50%
