MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Systems Administrator to join our team in Patuxent River, MD.  This is a full-time onsite position.
 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Create software applications, test and evaluate applications, and tweak and improve applications to make them user-friendly.
  • Assist in the definition, development, testing, analysis, and maintenance of new or existing software applications in support of the achievement of business requirements. This may include writing, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications
  • Update software or enhance existing software capabilities. May work with computer hardware engineers to integrate hardware and software systems and develop specifications and performance requirements
  • May maintain databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team
  • May deploy and administer on-premises systems (e.g. VMware, Horizon, ESXi, WYSE) with an emphasis on high availability, scalability, and cost optimization
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and PowerShell
  • Collaboration with DevOps, software engineering, and security teams to optimize system performance and reliability

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in technical or business discipline with 8+ years of system administration or similar work experience, or a Bachelor’s degree plus 12+ years of experience, or an Associates with 14+ years of system administration or similar experience may be substituted for the Master’s degree
  • 5+ years of experience in systems administration/engineering of virtualization, High Performance Computing (HPC), storage, and networking
  • Experience building and administering systems using Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8.10, Windows 11 Enterprise, and/or Windows Servers 2019/2022 Enterprise
  • Experience administering VMware environments (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, VMware Horizon VDI)
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity compliance, including STIGs, ATO processes (RMF), and vulnerability management tools (e.g., Tenable Security Center, Nessus, and Evaluate-Stig)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with DoD or Navy cybersecurity mandates and cross-domain solutions
  • Certifications such as Linux+, Cisco CCENT, or Microsoft MCSA/MCSE
  • Knowledge of COMSEC principles and training

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess a current and active Top Secret Clearance

Physical Requirements:

  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication.

The projected compensation range for this position is $125,500.00-$210,200.00.
