Backend Engineer - Survey and Design

About the role

As a software engineer in the Survey & Design team, you will build easy-to-use tools that help Aira's employees gather data in a structured way and design climate friendly energy solutions for our customers. 

In This Role, You Will:

• Design and build backend services that scale to our users all over Europe 
• Create well designed APIs that stand the test of time 
• Integrate with 3rd party providers in a reliable way and transform their geometric data into a data model that fits our use-case 
• Create feedback loops between the data we get from our installed heat pumps and our design tool, to make sure our design tool becomes better over time 
• We’re making home energy design simple and intelligent. If you enjoy building robust backend systems that combine data, algorithms, and real-world impact, this role is for you. 

What you bring to the team 

• Experience with Java (Spring framework preferred) 
• Strong understanding of databases and domain driven design 
• Experience building APIs and backend services 
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality, well-tested code 
• Interest in computational geometry, energy modelling, or design tooling 

Nice To Have:
