We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Vice President, External Reporting to join our Finance Regulatory Reporting Team. This role is located in New York, NY.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- The Senior Vice President demonstrates extensive knowledge of U.S. Regulatory Reporting best practices and a specialized understanding of the U.S. Capital Rules (Basel III)
- Monitors the development of regulatory capital initiatives from the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) and the U.S. banking regulators (Federal Reserve, OCC and FDIC) and participates in the interpretation and implementation of Basel III Endgame and other new capital rules
- Recognized throughout the organization as the Regulatory Policy point of contact for business partner areas
- Provides technical interpretation and guidance on Regulatory Policy and Reporting issues as well as capital issues related to new transactions and products
- Participates in industry-wide Regulatory Reporting Interpretation forums and capital rule related advocacy meetings organized by various industry trade associations
- In partnership with management, establishes the regulatory reporting strategy for the business partner areas
- Sustains the integrity of the reporting process and addresses highly complex external reporting matters associated with the process
- Liaises with internal constituents and external regulators to ensure compliance to prescribed standards
- Coordinates the review of process documentation, training content, and will advocate for continuous improvement of work processes
- No direct reports. Oversees, advises, and guides less experienced External Reporting roles and may direct their work. Acts as a coach and mentor to less experienced team members
- Participates in the preparation of BNY Mellon’s Pillar 3 Reporting process
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- The qualified candidate is required to have a bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- 10 to 12 years of experience in Regulatory Policy and/or External Reporting required with knowledge of U.S. Capital Rules (Basel III) and bank financial products
- B.A./B.S. with Accounting concentration or equivalent experience is preferred
- C.P.A. and knowledge of GAAP is preferred

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $102,000 and $221,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance and market factors.
