Role Description

The Divisional Director for the Northeast and Atlantic oversees the team responsible for building and strengthening Consumer Banking connections within the communities we serve. This role develops and owns the Divisional strategy, partnering closely with Consumer Banking Field and One Chase Leadership to design and implement effective initiatives and strategies.

This leader is responsible for leading a team to ensure successful implementation of our national and local community engagement strategies and business development, through inclusive community involvement, integrated partnerships, ensuring critical connections, and influencing individuals and situations along the way. 

Key to the success of this leader is strong partnerships and collaboration with Consumer Banking Field Leadership and our entire JP Morgan Chase  network.  Primary success indicators for the Community and Business Development team include effectively navigating across JPMC lines-of-business, appropriately leveraging connections to Firmwide initiatives – including our Financial Health agenda, CB Segments, and the JPMC Foundation – and linking to key external partners for the greatest impact and mutual benefit of our Firm, the communities we serve, and the lives we touch.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading the team to execute a consistent community strategy across Lending, Mortgage, Small Business, and Financial Health; strong partnership and alignment with our Field and One Chase Leadership
  • Working across One Chase, the role is accountable for the growth of our business opportunities within the underserved communities 
  • Partners on the design, develop, and implementation of a customer and data-driven partnership strategy to effectively support the community involvement components, with a bent towards innovative programs and solutions
  • Builds and leads the integrated Community and Financial Health roadmap across the Division, creates actionable plans, and benchmarks performance against key implementation targets/goals; ensures end-to-end accountability and integration for optimal success
  • Strong focus on employee engagement; responsible for coaching/management and executing across a balanced scorecard of employee metrics including recruiting, retention, training, inclusion, performance management, career development, conduct and engagement in culture/community 
  • Partners closely with Market Leadership Teams, LOB Leaders, Corporate Responsibility, Community Relations, and other key stakeholder groups
  • Identifies key internal and external influencers, and ensures ongoing communication, buy-in and support every step of the way - with a focus on JPMC brand awareness, strength, and connections;  leverages professional and personal networks to maximize existing relationships, and cultivate new ones
  • Proactively drives collaboration across the firm for the benefit of the team; is seen as a true partner, enthusiastic leader, and consummate team player
  • Drives a culture of inclusion, innovation, and pride as part of the overall strategy
  • Promotes a strong controls environment by adhering to risk/control expectations, procedures, and processes

Qualifications

  • Compassionate and bold senior leader with a drive to enact significant and positive impact for Consumer Banking and the communities we serve
  • Strong leadership capabilities in the areas of influence, building strategic partnerships and alliances, creative thought leadership, with strong executive presence
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills; digitally savvy, with proven ability to conceptualize new and innovative ideas; entrepreneurial mind-set
  • Intellectually curious, always willing to learn and take on new challenges with a flexible, can-do attitude
  • Strong collaboration skills; works well in a highly matrixed organization, and with senior-level internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong leadership skills, with a bias for action and passion for results
  • Extensive banking experience, including in-depth knowledge of Banking products and services, best-practices, and branch operating mode
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; advanced degree preferred
