How you'll make an impact
As a key technical role, reporting to the Platform Owner – Corporate Systems, the Senior Engineer is responsible for working closely with business and project representatives, solutions architects, cyber & security, software engineers and testers to support, develop and enhance the systems in accordance with business requirements. This role will work closely with the other IT portfolios and business stakeholders to ensure stability and completion of BAU tasks.
Operational:
- Monitor incident queues and analyse, diagnose, and fix incidents raised by the first level teams or business stakeholders.
- Collaborate within the broader Wealth, Digital & Enterprise Technology Teams and other Portfolios to resolve or assist in resolving integration related incidents.
- Complete operational tasks to ensure system stability, ensure accurate and timely provision of interfaces and reports to the business and other teams.
- Manage key business stakeholder relationships to ensure technical services align to key business priorities.
- Define and implement areas of opportunity to continually improve the service experience, including ticket reduction, automation, and innovation.
- Work closely with the broader Wealth Technology team to ensure that changes are sustainable and supportable.
Development/Projects:
- Assist in the development and maintenance of the applications with the portfolio’s remit.
- Analyse, design and propose IT and business solutions to meet the requirements of projects of work or component pieces for larger, complex programs of work as defined by enterprise projects.
- Develop ad-hoc data tools and data extracts that solve data related queries.
- Develop solutions in according with architecture guidelines and processes to ensure programs are efficient, scalable and reusable.
- Gather business requirements for small pieces of work and manage development and delivery end-to-end.
- Stay abreast of new technologies and product improvements that can enhance the service offering of applications currently in use.
- Partner with sponsoring projects, business analysts, other developers and design professionals to define and build technical solutions.
- Conduct data modelling and data analysis to help validate business and solution requirements.
- Assist development managers with the estimation of solutions and the prioritisation of functionality against desired cost benefit outcomes.
- Build relationships and develop platform advocacy across a variety of stakeholders including internal customers, vendors and partners.
- Work within agile and traditional software development methodologies with a high degree of collaboration.
- Work within a deadline and cost driven environment.
- Assist in user acceptance testing and defect triage activities, ensuring technical designs and builds meet business requirements.
- Maintain technical design documentation and contribute to the development of technical design patterns, standards and coding practices.
- Lead technical code reviews and audits as required to maintain code quality.
- Provide technical leadership to developers and testing team members as well as mentor less experienced team members.
What you will being to the role
- Experience with Oracle & other SaaS Platforms within the Finance space.
- Ability to use AI to improve processes
- Experience working with Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM applications, including configuration, support, and enhancement of hosted HR modules such as Core HR, Talent Management, Absence Management, and Payroll.
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize HR processes and ensure seamless integration with other enterprise systems.
- Understanding of financial services IT solutions.
- Sound understanding of ITIL – Problem and Incident Management.
- Demonstrated experience in a support role.
- Understanding of AGILE development techniques.
