We are looking for a talented Area Vice President of Operations to join our DBU CSSNA Western Region Area team based in Kansas City, Missouri or Omaha, NE, although other options inside of area of responsibility would be considered. This position has operation responsibility for ND, SD, NE, KS and Kansas City, MO.
The Area Vice President of Operations role entails full responsibility for managing a group of branches within a specific business unit or geography, specifically the DBU CSSNA Western Region. The leader will oversee operations, with direct reports across multiple states. The customer base spans various markets, including On-highway, Industrial, and Power Generation, among others.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Manage branches through Branch Managers.
- Responsible for all functions and financial metrics for the group of branches. Develops the Annual Operating Plan with input from Business Development and Branch Managers; manages the business to the Annual Operating Plan; monitors all appropriate business metrics including Branch balanced scorecards, profit and loss metrics, and asset metrics.
- Directs market analysis for span of responsibilities. Ensure business growth by developing an annual marketing and sales plan; develop and maintain business relationships with customers and develop new business partners and alliances for the business unit or geography.
- Maintains a deep understanding of Cummins’ business in the region, globally, and across all business units. Drives customer satisfaction for the Branches as measured by Net Promoter Score and Lens of the Customer programs; develops a culture of customer service; recruits, develops, motivates, and retains high quality customer service employees.
- Directs customer service through Branch operations. Manages warranty submission and rejection; develops an understanding of repetitive warranty issues and provides feedback to the organization to ensure product and service improvement; monitors Repair Event Cycle Time and drives improvements within the branches and across the organization.
- Directs compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards and compliance.
- Drives a culture of corporate responsibility for the benefit of employees and the communities in which Cummins operates. Leads, manages, develops, and motivates employees; completes, agrees to and monitors work plans and Individual Development Plans for Branch Managers.

Education/Experience
- College, university, or equivalent degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related subject suggested but not required or relevant work experience.
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification or Sponsor certification suggested but not required
- Significant level of relevant work experience required, including managerial, budgetary, and strategy experience.
