We are looking for an enthusiastic Health, Safety & Environment Placement Student to join our team specializing in Environment for our Components and Software Business Segment in UK, Huddersfield. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!
This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence Summer of 2026. This role will largely be onsite for the best experience so you must be able to travel to the location although some hybrid working can be considered if required.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Sustainability: Contributes towards the organisation's Destination Zero strategy through reducing the environmental footprint of the Huddersfield site. Supports, tracks and seeks funding for sustainability projects.
- Data-Driven Improvement: Evaluates sustainability, environment and safety data, audit results and findings to create risk-based improvement plans that inform strategy and protect people and the environment.
- Environmental Compliance: Supports efforts to identify, understand and manage waste, asbestos, legionella and other aspects effectively in accordance with legislation and compliance obligations.
- Action Oriented: Taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with urgency, high energy and enthusiasm to drive meaningful results.
- Collaborates: Building strong partnerships and working cross-functionally to meet shared objectives and foster a culture of teamwork and trust.
- Embraces Technology: Efficient use of Microsoft Office packages, ability to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies, understanding of PowerBi would be an advantage.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Studying towards a degree in STEM, Building Services or a Business-related subject; Degree in an environmental or safety related field would be an advantage.
- Have an interest in the built environment, inclusivity and be able to link sustainability goals to operational practices.
- Excellent IT ability, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills with the ability to work well within a team and use your initiative.
- Ambition, flexibility and confidence coupled with creativity, imagination and a desire to learn; and a willingness to take on responsibility.
