Responsibilities

The Marketing Technology (MarTech) team seeks a Senior Software Engineer. This role develops and enables scalable, high-value MarTech systems and processes. Our mission is to partner with our global marketing team to drive Atlassian's growth to $10 billion.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will collaborate with a geographically distributed group of engineers, product managers, solution architects, and business systems analysts. You will enhance our systems using diverse technical stacks and services, including Kotlin, Java, and a range of AWS products.

Qualifications

On Your First Day, We'Ll Expect You To Have :

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience building and implementing scalable, performant RESTful microservices
• Passion for collaboration and strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to nurture relationships with business stakeholders
• Thrive in fast-paced business environments with unique challenges and opportunities
• Solve complex problems by self-starting or calling on the help of your teammates
• Familiarity with cloud architecture patterns and an engineering discipline to produce quality software
• Proficiency in a modern object-oriented programming language (e.g., Java, Kotlin)
• Fluency in a database technology (e.g., RDBMS like Oracle or Postgres, or NoSQL like DynamoDB or Cassandra)
• Experience with AWS services like S3, RDS, SQS, and CloudFront, or equivalent cloud providers
• Experience with tools like Git, Maven/Gradle, Bamboo/Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, and Docker for build and deployment workflows
• Understand distributed systems and application security

It’s great, but not required if you have:

• Experience working in Marketing Platforms like Salesforce Marketing cloud, Marketo.
