Join the team building the engineering backbone behind Microsoft’s AI-first transformation! Come be at the center of Microsoft 365 and help shape the future of Engineering Systems at Microsoft!
The “Engineering Systems 365” (ES365) team works on developer productivity and satisfaction to ensure that code changes move quickly and efficiently from inception to release with provable high quality, at scale, across multiple endpoints, platforms, and device form factors – all while managing costs responsibly.
As AI development evolves, the complexity of our engineering systems continues to grow as Microsoft's AI products rely on numerous shared packages, cross-repository integrations, and rapidly evolving frameworks—all while maintaining high standards for reliability, security, and compliance.
In this role, you will be at the heart of this transformation by:
- Leading ES365’s Cohort efforts in focusing on the developer experience across a set of targeted engineers
- Modernizing and evolving our engineering portfolio by working by collaborating with other engineering teams at Microsoft
- Scaling development of web and AI tech experiences through reliability and performance of key engineering systems
This is a high visibility role with focus on big transformations and large gains. You’ll have engineering leaders from across the company invested in your success as many of the new AI features rolling out as part of M365 Copilot is heavily dependent on the services and components that ship out of the codebases we support, like 1JS – a web first repository and OMR – the Office MonoRepo. You will build connections with other engineering systems teams across Microsoft, and together you will work to identify, define, and adopt best practices from within the company and the industry.
Our work is a true force multiplier, where small efficiencies translate to months of developer time saved, and large efficiencies have transformational impact on Microsoft’s bottom line. We’ll enable our customers to create and ship products which are performant, reliable, accessible, secure, and trustworthy; products which empower every person and organization to achieve more.
