This role is pivotal in driving strategic growth, customer success, and team excellence within a dynamic and fast-evolving market landscape.
As a key member of the leadership team, the Sales Manager will be responsible for setting and executing the sales strategy, coaching and developing talent, and ensuring the team consistently meets and exceeds performance targets. The successful candidate will bring a strong commercial acumen, a passion for customer engagement, and a proven ability to lead through change and complexity.
This role demands a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on leadership, with a focus on pipeline generation, opportunity acceleration, and closing high-impact deals. The Sales Manager will also play a critical role in fostering cross-functional collaboration, aligning with internal stakeholders across solution areas, and championing the adoption of AI and digital transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Build, motivate and mentor a high-performing sales team of Account Executives and Account Technology Specialists
- Lead team members through example. Lead and coach team members through sales coaching of their customer opportunities
- Lead team to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual team targets by generating sales pipeline, accelerating active opportunities and driving to close
- Collaborate closely with Managers within ancilliary teams - Specialist Team Unit, Customer Success and Services
- Coach sellers and ensure every seller creates and maintains Listen and Consult opportunities in CRM for Copilot, Azure Contract Commitments, Microsoft 365, Dynamics and Surface
- Accurately assess risk and identify exceptional performance plans in weekly deal and pipeline reviews with senior management
- Drive operational excellence of key center metrics including upside conversion, pipeline, velocity and accuracy
- Drive business value driven customer conversations by achieving a minimum 100-level proficiency in all solution areas
- Have meaningful career development discussions and ensure all employees have a development plan in place focused on building capability for current and future roles.
- Assess team capability & build talent pipelines where needed
- Spend time weekly coaching and observing the team both on methods of improving field revenue accountability, Consumption, Customer Adds and on their overall approach in building deep customer trust
- Empower your teams to spend more time with customers and partners by removing productivity blockers & unnecessary rhythms.
Qualifications
- A proven sales track record with a technology sales environment
- Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communications skills - ability to coach team to successfully drive sales goals
- Superior leadership skills with the ability to enable high performers to deliver and motivate under-performers to improve
- Experience, background and confidence to initiate and drive business strategy discussions with C-level executives and business decision makers around industry drivers and workloads. Experience of the professional services industry, Legal & Recruitment would be an advantage but not a pre-requisite.
- General knowledge of the IT industry, with the capacity to learn and retain knowledge about individual systems, processes, products and services quickly and accurately
- Works well in a diverse team and enjoys a dynamic and changing environment
- Achievement and success-driven attitude, motivated by performance rewards for exceeding annual sales goals through strategic sales leadership and strong cross business collaboration
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite applications Dynamics CRM or other CRM experience is a bonus
- Passion for cloud technologies and how AI will transform every industry
