Job Description:

The Successful Candidate Will Join Twu'S Vibrant Music Faculty In Preparing Future Music Therapists And Advancing Graduate Education In Music Therapy. The Division Of Music Has An Enrollment Of Approximately 275 Music Majors. Bachelor’S Degrees Are Offered In Music Education, Music Therapy, Musical Theatre, Performance And Liberal Arts. Additionally, Master’S Degrees Are Offered In Music Education, Music Therapy, Performance, And Instrumental, Piano, Or Vocal Pedagogy.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Successful Candidate Will:

  1. 1. Teach courses in music therapy at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  2. 2. Assist with practicum/internship/clinical training aspects of the program.
  3. 3. Advise graduate and undergraduate music therapy students.
  4. 4. Direct master’s theses and professional papers in music therapy and serve on other graduate student committees.
  5. 5. Actively participate in division recruiting.
  6. 6. Develop a strong record of scholarship that enhances program standing and visibility of the department and the music therapy program.
  7. 7. Maintain active involvement in professional organizations related to music therapy on the state and national levels; and
  8. 8. Teach other courses aligned with secondary area(s) of expertise.
  9. 1. Hold an earned doctorate in Music, Music Education with an emphasis in Music Therapy, Music Therapy or other closely related field
  10. 2. Hold Board Certification (MT-BC) in Music Therapy; and
