Huawei's Zurich Research Centre is a leading European hub for cutting-edge computer vision and AI research. The Computer Vision and Machine Learning Lab is seeking a passionate and innovative researcher to drive next-generation breakthroughs in Colour Processing & Perceptual Rendering for Huawei mobile phones. Your work will also power other Huawei products such as laptops, tablets, XR, and beyond.

What You'Ll Work On:

  • Focus on cloud computing, computing architecture and high-performance computing technologies. The engineer will participate in international conferences, workshops, and seminars (e.g., ISCA, MICRO, HPCA, etc.). The engineer will attend technical presentations, engage with speakers to obtain the latest cutting-edge research achievements in the field, and write analysis summary reports promptly after the conference to propose innovative architecture ideas.
  • Regularly write in-depth analysis reports on key topics in computational architecture and parallel processing. The engineer should analyze the potential commercial value, technical breakthroughs, and technical bottlenecks of emerging technologies and suggest solutions. These reports will serve as a reference for strategic decision-making within the company.
  • Coordinate internally with relevant business departments within the company. The engineer will discuss with experts from these departments to mutually promote the initiation of R&D projects related to computational architecture and system design.
  • Establish connections with renowned academic organizations (e.g., ACM, IEEE, etc.) and engage with core members and experts in computational architecture.
  • Assist in organizing internal seminars and workshops related to computational architecture. The engineer will maintain regular technical exchanges with academic and industry partners to stay updated on the latest trends and advancements.
  • Identify innovative start-ups or SMEs in the field of computational architecture and system design. The engineer will explore potential collaborations and partnerships to enhance the company's technological capabilities.

Who We'Re Looking For:

  • Educational background in computer science, electrical engineering, or related fields. The candidate should hold a PhD degree.
  • Solid knowledge in the following areas: cloud computing, computational architecture, parallel processing, high-performance computing, system design, memory hierarchy, interconnect technologies, heterogeneous computing, and energy-efficient computing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The candidate should demonstrate keen insight and the ability to self-learn new technologies and concepts quickly.
  • Fluency in oral and written English is required. Proficiency in additional languages, such as Mandarin, is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Business trips in Switzerland and other European countries are required, mainly for conferences and seminars.
  • Preference for candidates with industry experience in AI or computational technologies.
