We're looking for an Adoption Specialist to join our team and make a lasting impact on the lives of children and families.
In this important role, you’ll guide families through the adoption journey, ensuring compliance with state standards and providing support every step of the way. You’ll work closely with internal teams, legal partners, and community resources to help children achieve permanency in safe, nurturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete Florida Child Welfare Pre-Service Training and obtain certification within 12 months of passing the post-test
- Conduct home and field visits to assess family readiness and child needs
- Prepare and maintain documentation including home studies, assessments, and court reports
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance, supervisors, and job coaches during the certification process
- Support families through the adoption process, including placement, subsidy access, and post-placement supervision
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and agency regulations
- Participate in agency orientation and complete required web-based training
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to adoptive families
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and re-certification every two years

Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human services field from an accredited university or college
- One year of post-bachelor’s degree experience in a related field, or two years with a non-human services degree
- Must obtain Florida Child Welfare Certification within 12 months of passing the Pre-Service Post Test
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interpret policies and legal documents
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
- Completion of 40 hours of in-service training annually, including topics such as child abuse indicators, substance abuse, and independent living
- Must complete all required agency orientation and training
