Job Summary

Nonn’s is currently seeking a full-time Warehouse Manager to join our team in the flooring and construction interior finishes industry. Together with organization and leadership skills, the Warehouse Manager oversees all activities associated with warehouse staff and operations, inventory accuracy, productivity, and efficiencies. This hands-on role is responsible for efficient and organized standard operating procedures and training. The Warehouse Manager reports to the Operations Manager and works Monday to Friday warehouse hours at our New Berlin, WI location. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Coordinate all daily warehouse activities, including clean and organized warehouse and facilities both inside and out.
  • Coordinate forklift training and vehicle and forklift maintenance.
  • Monitor receiving functions for accuracy.
  • Ensure that product returns are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Review and approve all purchases for warehouse supplies.
  • Oversee inventory accuracy by monitoring cycle counts, location changes and inventory adjustments.
  • May assist with product delivery as needed.
  • Manage department concerns and ensures compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other departments in terms of production schedule, assignments, and dispatch of jobs, as well as returned and non-dispatched workload. 
  • Conduct timely and constructive evaluations, coaching conversations and discipline with direct reports. 
  • Direct daily workflow and provide continual training and feedback to staff. 
  • Hire any vacant positions within the department and provide new hire orientation and training. 
  • Seek ways to improve department operations and procedures and create communication and training curriculum for these improvements.
  • Follow and enforce all safety policies and procedures; initiate and lead safety meetings.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company guidelines, policies and procedures, and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Supervise warehouse and delivery associates.
  • Set goals for performance and deadlines in ways that align with company’s plans and vision.
  • Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks.
  • Provide mentoring, performance coaching, and discipline as needed to ensure employee engagement and job success.

Requirements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.   • 2+ years of supervisory work experience in areas such as warehouse operations, inventory, or logistics.
  • Previous work experience in flooring or construction-related industry preferred.
  • Previous work experience using Microsoft Office applications as a daily requirement.
  • Previous work experience using QFloors or similar construction-related business management application preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver license and meet our minimum standards following a Motor Vehicle Record review at time of job offer and at regular intervals while employed. 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without restriction and on a regular basis.
  • Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing for training and project updates and to independently handle external and internal requests.
  • Math skills acquired through high school diploma or equivalent to complete measurements, understand order quantities, calculate fractions and percentages, convert square feet and square yards, and understand basic financial transactions.

  • Ability to sit at a computer monitor in the course of performing work duties.
  • Must possess the ability to stand for long periods of time; to reach with hands and arms; to move among and between job sites; to sit, stoop, kneel and crouch; to lift and move up to 50 pounds unassisted on a regular basis; to see well enough to discern differences in quality of product and installation.
