The Energy Security and Emergency Management Branch protects and strengthens the reliability, security, and resilience of NSW’s energy systems through strategic planning, real-time emergency coordination, and long-term preparedness.

About The Roles

We are seeking to appoint 2 ongoing project officers for our Planning and Capability team which, in close partnership with the energy emergency management team, leads emergency management planning and preparedness, operational capability and continuous improvement, ensuring the branch is ready to respond to incidents spanning electricity, gas, liquid fuels, water and waste water.

The Project Officers will support the development and coordination of diverse and interesting work, including Energy Emergency Management prevention, preparedness, response and recovery, lessons learned, capability development and surge staff programs.

About You

Suitable candidates will hold project management experience and an interest in frameworks that support planning, continuous improvement, and resilience. You’ll have strong written and interpersonal communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to produce high-quality and engaging documents that support planning and decision-making. Knowledge of energy systems and/or NSW emergency management arrangements is desirable.

In this dynamic role, you’ll collaborate with government agencies, energy providers, and emergency services to deliver initiatives that enhance emergency management planning and capability, support risk mitigation, and improve recovery outcomes.

Essential Requirements

• Tertiary qualifications and/or experience in a relevant discipline.
