Community Progress Council is seeking a dedicated, Bilingual Self-Sufficiency Coach to join our mission-driven team in York, PA. This is more than a job—it’s a chance to be a catalyst for meaningful change in the lives of individuals and families striving for independence.
In this dynamic and impactful role, you’ll serve as a vital connector between our agency, the community, and the clients we support. Through personalized coaching and strategic guidance, you’ll empower individuals to overcome barriers and achieve long-term self-sufficiency.
Guided by insights from the Community Needs Assessment, you’ll identify service gaps and contribute to innovative, community-centered solutions. You’ll also cultivate strong partnerships with local organizations and CPC programs, helping to build a robust support network that drives transformation across York County.

Responsibilities
- Uphold and promote CPC’s mission, vision, and core values.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with community partners to coordinate services and referrals.
- Stay informed on community needs to guide service delivery and identify program opportunities.
- Co-facilitate group learning sessions using the Getting Ahead in a Just-Getting-By World curriculum.
- Provide individualized coaching rooted in Family Centered Coaching principles to support client self-sufficiency.
- Conduct client assessments using the Self-Sufficiency Scale to identify strengths, barriers, and resource needs.
- Guide clients in goal setting, decision-making, budgeting, education, and employment planning.
- Deliver coaching in accessible, client-friendly locations and maintain accurate documentation.
- Serve as a mentor and advocate, ensuring timely and confidential access to services.
- Submit reports and represent CPC in community and stakeholder engagements.
- Participate in training, committees, and organizational development activities.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support CPC’s mission.

Qualifications
- Education & Experience: A bachelor’s degree in social services or a closely related discipline is preferred, accompanied by a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience. Alternatively, candidates may qualify with at least 60 college credits in a related field and two years of applicable experience. Prior supervisory experience is highly desirable and considered an asset.
- Language Skills: Fluency in Spanish or Haitian Creole is required to effectively serve our diverse community.
- Transportation and Flexibility Candidates must possess reliable transportation and hold a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license. Flexibility is essential, as the role may require starting the workday at various agency locations.
- Skills & Abilities: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional literature, technical documents, and government regulations. Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Interpersonal Skills: Proven ability to engage and collaborate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and communities, fostering inclusive and respectful interactions.
- Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to respond positively to change and perform additional tasks as assigned.
