About The Role

We are a high-growth SaaS company scaling rapidly. With strong recurring revenues and ambitious expansion plans, we are looking for a hands-on assistant accountant to support the finance function for six months during a critical growth phase. 

What success looks like 

  • Reliable, timely management reporting delivered monthly. 
  • Forecasting and cash management processes in place and trusted. 
  • SaaS metrics tracked accurately and understood by leadership. 
  • Finance operations running smoothly in our lean team structure. 

What You’Ll Do

  • Financial Reporting & Compliance 
    • Deliver accurate monthly management accounts (payroll accruals, prepayments). 
    • Ensure timely month-end close and reconciliations. 
  • Treasury & Operations 
    • Oversee day-to-day finance operations (AR, AP, bank reconciliations). 
    • Set up supplier and payroll payment runs. 
  • Payroll  
    • Work hands-on with payroll system and outsourced vendor. 
    • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency. 
  • Business Partnering (Forecasting & Analysis) 
    • Collaborate closely with stakeholders providing clear and actionable financial insight. 
    • Support rolling forecast processes. Perform variance analysis with clear commentary for management. 
  • Support on ad-hoc strategic projects 

About You

  • Strong experience in finance / controller roles. 
  • Ability to operate as a sole finance operator (no direct reports, managing own workload end-to-end). 
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, with ability to distil complex financial data into clear insights. 
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with competing priorities.

Working Details

This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week). We typically work from 09:00 - 17:30 from Monday to Friday, though we can be flexible around this, just let us know. 

This is a flexible hybrid role based in our Edinburgh HQ. We're making the most of hybrid working, so you won't need to come into the office everyday (unless you want to!).
