Derivatives Business Operations
Brief Overview:
The Derivatives Clearing and Collateral team is responsible for the clearing and settlement operations of Singapore Exchange (SGX) Derivatives, ensuring that all trades are processed accurately, securely, and in compliance with regulatory standards. The team manages the full lifecycle of derivatives transactions—from post trade management and margining to money settlement and risk mitigation—while optimizing collateral usage and maintaining operational resilience.
- 1) Product development: Derivatives products from concepts to life
- 2) Market management: monitor and manage the Derivatives ,market by leveraging on technology and tools
- 3) Risk management: manage counterparty risk through daily cycle mark-to-market, margining and collateral management
Learning Objectives:
Selected intern would undergo a structured internship program with the following exposure
1) Technical Development (70%)
- Singapore’s Derivatives market, rules and processes under the guidance of experienced and passionate mentors.
- Tools and technologies for market management (e.g. CW2, Titian OTC, SWIFT, SGX PTS system)
- Derivatives business products knowledge (e.g. NLT(negotiated large trades) of listed
Derivatives (e.g. Equities, Commodities, Foreign Exchange products)
- Derivatives clearing processes, systems, rules and concepts (e.g. Daily Settlement Cycle, Margin calls)
- Collateral management - Learn about different types of collateral (e.g. cash, government securities) and participate in daily collateral movements and reconciliations.
- Learn how to handle day to day exceptions.

Job Description:
- Develop Singapore derivatives market infrastructure by:
- 1) Ensuring smooth market operations
- 2) Enhancing market management decision making process through in-house data analytics and dashboard
- 3) Automating daily operations processes through VBA, R/ Python script
- 4) Enhance learning opportunity (e.g. rotation within C&C team)
