Purpose Of Job

To lead and manage the delivery of Access, Insulation, and Protective Coatings services in line with Sasol’s safety, quality, and operational standards. The Group Leader will oversee service provider safety management, conduct site verification safety audits, enforce rigorous quality control, and lead quality control service departments to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective AIP solutions supporting business objectives.

Key Accountabilities

Operational, Financial and Technical Results

• Ensure timely and quality delivery of AIP services
• Maintain cost and capital competitiveness
• Lead and manage a team of technicians and QA/QC personnel
• Drive productivity, leadership, and team development
• Translate strategic objectives into operational execution

Management And Execution

• Develop and implement operational plans and priorities
• Manage Opex Maintenance budget effectively
• Coordinate resources and asset management
• Control result monitoring, governance, and compliance
• Oversee contract execution and decision-making quality

Customer and Stakeholder Relations

• Maintain strong customer, supplier and stakeholder relationships
• Manage peer and subordinate relationships in a collaborative manner

Innovation And Improvement

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and promote learning
• Implement process improvements

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with English, Maths, Physics, and a trade certificate
• NACE Coating Inspector qualification (mandatory)
• NQF Level 6 – National Diploma or Advanced Certificate in engineering or relevant field (Mandatory)

Work Experience

• Seven (7) years’ experience in scaffolding, cold and hot insulation, and protective coatings
• Experience in service provider safety management and site verification audits
• Demonstrated stakeholder relationship management skills
• Managerial experience in managing quality control service-related department
