About The Role:
Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional looking to make an impact in a dynamic and supportive environment? We’re seeking a skilled Bookkeeper/Accountant to join our team in Wagga Wagga, where you’ll play a key role in delivering accurate and timely financial services to our valued clients.
This role will see you performing a variety of bookkeeping responsibilities including, bookkeeping duties, reviewing, organising and processing information using client source data, analysing reports and preparing financial acquittals.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements in accordance with accounting standards;
- Apply knowledge of client/firm/industry trends and current issues;
- Assist accountant in preparing client BAS, IAS, Payroll Tax, LSL Levy and other ongoing tax and superannuation compliance requirements;
- Prepare reconciliations of bank accounts;
- Prepare accounts receivable and accounts payable;
Process Payroll;
- Prepare period end journals, supporting documentation and periodic balance sheet reconciliations;
- Prepare workpapers for annual audits and respond to audit queries;
- Prepare periodic financial acquittals;
- Allocate costs and income to multiple programs in accordance with funding contract requirements
- Review and analyse draft reports for accuracy and reasonableness
- Assist with client relationship management
- Handle client bookkeeping queries

You’re a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional with a strong foundation in bookkeeping and accounting. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy solving problems, and take pride in delivering accurate and timely financial support. Your ability to work independently, combined with excellent customer service and communication skills, makes you a trusted partner to clients and colleagues alike.
Demonstrated Experience & Attributes
- 4+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping/accounting
- Relevant qualifications in accounting or finance
- Proficiency in Xero and MYOB AccountRight
- Solid payroll processing experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (Dr’s & Cr’s, P&L, Balance Sheet)
- Sound knowledge of GST and tax compliance
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to identify and communicate process improvements
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
