About The Role
Techno is actively seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Inspector to support a transformative infrastructure project at a major municipal facility in Queens, NY. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about electrical systems and public infrastructure who want to be part of an initiative that strengthens the backbone of New York City's essential services.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all electrical construction activities, ensuring full compliance with project specifications, electrical codes, and safety standards. You’ll work closely with engineers, contractors, and project managers to verify installations, troubleshoot field issues, and contribute to the successful delivery of a high-impact infrastructure initiative.
What You'Ll Do
- Inspect and assess electrical systems, components, and installations for code compliance and operational integrity.
- Monitor the installation of conduits, panels, wiring, lighting, and power systems to ensure alignment with approved plans and specifications.
- Review and interpret electrical design drawings, technical documents, and shop drawings to verify compliance with project requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and project managers to resolve issues and ensure the smooth progression of electrical work.
- Witness and verify testing of key systems, including grounding, insulation resistance, continuity, and emergency power systems.
- Document daily inspection activities, report discrepancies, and provide regular updates to the project team.
- Ensure contractor compliance with the NEC, NYC Electrical Code, DEP standards, and safety protocols.
- Conduct field observations and assist in the approval process for electrical submittals and product data.
- Coordinate across multiple work areas to support timely and efficient delivery of electrical milestones.
- Promote and enforce site safety practices in accordance with OSHA and local regulations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical inspection for building or infrastructure construction projects.
- Prior experience with power distribution systems, lighting, fire alarm, and emergency power is highly desirable.
- NYS or NYC Electrical License or equivalent inspection certification is preferred.
- Experience with electrical systems in pump stations, treatment plants, or public infrastructure projects is a plus.
- Experience with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with contractors, engineers, and project managers.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to maintain thorough documentation.
- Knowledge of OSHA and NYC electrical safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

The expected salary range for this role in the New York City Metropolitan Area is $45 - $70 per hour. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process
