This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a transformative transportation initiative that will help modernize one of the most critical rail corridors on the East Coast.

In this role, you’ll be on the front lines of infrastructure progress—overseeing construction activities, ensuring quality assurance and compliance, and working closely with contractors, engineers, and field personnel to uphold the highest safety and performance standards.

What You'Ll Do

  • Monitor and inspect railroad construction activities including track, signals, structures, and civil works
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
  • Document construction progress, identify non-conformances, and recommend corrective actions
  • Coordinate with field engineers, contractors, and other inspection personnel
  • Maintain detailed field reports and contribute to project documentation and progress tracking
  • Support quality assurance efforts and conduct materials inspections as needed
  • Attend regular progress meetings and provide field-level insights and updates

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in construction inspection, with a strong focus on rail infrastructure
  • Solid understanding of track construction, safety protocols, and rail-specific construction methods
  • Familiarity with railroad terminology, track systems, signal systems, and construction documentation
  • Proven experience inspecting major rail projects or heavy civil infrastructure
  • Amtrak experience is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in both field and team environments
  • OSHA 10/30 or relevant safety certifications.
