Summary:

Ensures all labs, offices, washrooms and cafeteria are cleaned and maintained in immaculate condition at all times.

Essential Functions:

Performs daily cleaning of labs, washrooms, offices, hallways, and cafeteria areas of the facility. Performs waste disposal and recycling services. Daily upkeeps general areas including dusting, window cleaning, polishing of fixtures and brass, along with manage customer requests for cleaning, waste disposal, moving, replacement of lights, and other miscellaneous facility requests in a timely manner. Manages and completes facility projects such as stripping and waxing floors, cleaning of air diffusers and exhaust grills, etc. Maintains exterior of building including removing of debris, sweeping of walkways, snow removal and salting of walkways during the winter season, and cleaning of smoking area. Ensures regular replenishing of all facility dispensers including paper, soap, and production garments. Maintains inventory of all cleaning and maintenance supplies. Other duties as required.

Experience:

2 years experience in a cleaning or maintenance role.

Equivalency:

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.

Competencies:

Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. Good interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written). In this role it is essential to perform shift work . Team Player. Proficiency of the English language. Demonstrated commitment to our fundamental principles of Integrity, Respect & Excellence. Experience in a pharmaceutical or food processing environment, Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices and Attention to detail are assets.

Physical Requirements:

Work tasks are of routine and repetitive nature. Problems can be solved by choosing among a few alternatives that are clearly spelled out in defined practices/procedures. Occasionally responsible for performing porter duties such as relocation of furniture, moving boxes and work stations. Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes or odours, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights. Occasional need to pay attention to sensory inputs that are typically straightforward.
