At BioNTech’s Business Development and Business Alliance team you will participate in business development transactions and business alliances activities of the company. You will closely work together with the external innovation, legal team, IP team, manufacturing, medical affairs and commercial team etc. to support BioNTech's licensing, M&A, co-development or research collaboration activities, as well as to coordinate cross functional teams, oversee alliance governance and ensure smooth collaboration and business partnerships deliver maximum value for all parties.
Your Main Responsibilities Are:
- Manage strategic partnerships, collaborations, and licensing agreements that drive company’s growth
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with partners and internal stakeholders
- Act as a cultural bridge between organizations to foster collaboration and mutual value creation
- Contribute to Business Development strategy and partnering activities with companies, institutes in Asia and beyond in support of the company’s global vision
- Conduct due diligence, market analysis, and create, negotiate, and execute term sheets and agreements with global pharma partners, biotech companies and academics for licensing, R&D collaborations and acquisitions
- Liaise with internal stakeholders as part of the deal making or alliance management process including R&D, legal, IP, finance, and senior management
- Provide support to create, evaluate, and identify partnering and acquisition opportunities
- Communicate progress on business development, business alliance activities to internal stakeholders and management
What You Have To Offer:
- MBA or PhD or comparable degree in life sciences,
- 5-8 years of experience in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or healthcare, with focus on business development, alliance management or project management work
- Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong contract and governance management knowledge
- Experience in building partnerships with global pharma partners, biotech companies and academics including drafting and negotiating of term sheets and contracts
- Good understanding of regulatory pathways and reimbursement schemes in some key Asian countries
- Experience in working in a highly cross-functional and international setup
- Fluent in English and Chinese (written and spoken), other Asian language is a plus
- Driven, “sleeves rolled up” approach to work, flexible, able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment as well as the ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environment
