About The Role

Location: Remote, United States

Role-Type: Seasonal Part-Time, W2 Employee (up to 10 hours per week)

Duration: November 2025 - June 2026 (40 hours total of training in November/December, Part-Time commitment starts in January 2026)

Reports To: Senior Manager, Program Implementation

Compensation: $75-100 per hour

Interview timeline: Offers extended on a rolling basis, with a target final date of October 31, 2025

CodePath Tech Exchange (CTEx) Instructors play a vital role in shaping the careers of computer science majors at our partner universities. They teach industry-informed, intermediate-level courses that prepare students for software engineering internships and technical interviews. Students will build the core professional skills needed to succeed in the tech industry. To learn more, check out information on the program here

About The Course

Careers in Tech provides students visibility into an attainable pathway into tech roles and/or the tech industry. Students will learn what clear steps they need to take to achieve their individual career goals. They will also get practical experience in interviewing techniques through workshops and mock interviews.

What We Are Looking For

1 Part-Time Lead Instructor to own all four lecture sections listed below: 

  • Section A (Tu, 4:00pm-4:50pm ET)
  • Section B (Tu, 5:00pm-5:50pm ET)
  • Section C (Fri, 11:10am-12:00pm ET)
  • Section D (Fri, 2:10pm-3:00pm ET)

We are looking for candidates with 4+ years of Software Engineering and Career Mentorship experience who are passionate about teaching, eager to immerse themselves in a virtual academic setting, and excited about the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ lives.

To thrive in this role, you should be a dynamic and inspiring technical expert with a commitment to inclusive education, strong classroom leadership skills, and a deep passion for empowering students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Training & Development: Complete 40 hours of sync training sessions + async training tasks through the second half of November to build proficiency with CodePath’s teaching tools and instructional strategies before the semester begins (Exact training schedules to be published soon)
  • Course Instruction: Lead lectures and technical skills workshops for a Careers in Tech course (up to 50 students per section), supporting students in achieving learning objectives
  • Mock Interviews: Run mock technical interviews with students utilizing a mix of prepared rubrics and industry experience to provide actionable feedback to help students prepare for technical interviews when applying for technical internships and entry level job opportunities.
  • Lesson Preparation: Thoroughly review the provided curriculum and materials to deliver engaging, industry-relevant lessons aligned with learner needs (skeleton lesson plans are provided)
  • Instructional Staff Leadership: Manage, mentor, and support Teaching Assistants (Tech Fellows) 
  • Office Hours: Hold regular virtual office hours and actively encourage student participation
  • Grading: Ensure all assignments and deliverables are graded in a timely manner to provide constant student feedback  
  • Delivery Augmenting Materials: Integrate enrichment components like technical interview prep workshops and promote use of CodePath’s Career Center resources
  • Feedback: Share timely feedback with the CTEx program team about the student experience and program effectiveness overall
  • Deepen Institutional Knowledge Base: Capture and share knowledge (e.g., resource links, departmental context, tips) that will support future CTEx students across all universities

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4+ years of professional experience in Software Engineering using Python
  • Prior experience leading career development sessions and delivering mock technical interviews 
  • Part-time availability from January 2026 through June 2026 and commitment to the listed course schedule and time requirements above
  • Available to complete 40 hours of sync and async training sessions/tasks throughout mid-November through mid-December to be fully prepared for program launch
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited US Institution or accredited foreign university
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills; comfortable navigating ambiguity
  • Demonstrated passion for teaching and prior experience experience leading classrooms
  • Experience mentoring or managing junior developers
  • Prior experience teaching a technical course
  • Prior experience utilizing GenAI in academic or professional settings
