Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

This role is open only to candidates located in Pune. The selected candidate will be expected to follow a hybrid work model, requiring on-site presence 3–4 days a week.

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join QAD. The job will include 70% manual and 30% automation work and gradually will be moved to more of automation in future. 

What You Will Do:

• Create Automated Test Suites: Write, execute, and maintain automated test scripts (unit, integration, regression, functional, UI, API) using automation frameworks with a primary focus on Selenium and Python.
• Test Strategy & Planning: Participate in the development of comprehensive test plans and strategies, ensuring adequate test coverage for new features and existing functionalities.
• Defect Management: Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects and inconsistencies, collaborating with development teams for timely resolution.
• Performance & Reliability Testing: Conduct basic performance, load, and stress testing, as well as reliability assessments, to ensure applications meet defined benchmarks.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and other QA engineers, to understand requirements, define test scenarios, and ensure a high-quality product release.
• Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and methodologies.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a field related to Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a similar technical discipline.
• Experience: Proven experience of 5+ years in designing, building, and maintaining test automation frameworks and scripts.
• Programming & Scripting: Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used for test automation, such as Python or Java.
• Testing Methodologies: Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, principles, and the entire SDLC, particularly within Agile/Scrum environments.

• Tools:

• API Testing: Experience with API testing (RESTful/SOAP) and tools like Postman.
• Version Control: Familiarity with version control systems (SVN, Git).
• Automation: Selenium
• API Testing: Postman
• Performance Testing: JMeter
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Experience with other test automation frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Playwright).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
