Job Summary/Description:

WFIE dominates news and weather in the Tri-State, and now we are looking for a strong anchor here in Evansville, Indiana, who can help us grow that lead into the future. We are looking for a strong, engaged, animated communicator who can mesh with our incredible team.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • - Must be a leader in the newsroom and excel at breaking news coverage from the studio and in the field.
  • - Must be aggressive and consistent with coverage online and with social media on all platforms.
  • - Must be skilled to shoot & edit their own stories and employ digital-first strategies.
  • - Must be able to produce newscasts when needed.
  • - Exceptional planning, developing story ideas, and creative storytelling are a must.
  • - Must be a self-starter, demonstrate urgency in their delivery as well, and possess very strong writing skills.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • - Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field.
  • - 2+ years of experience reporting, writing, producing, shooting, and editing video content for newscasts.
  • - Shows ability to anchor and has filled in as an anchor.
  • - Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • - Proficient with video, camera equipment, Edius Editing, ENPS, and Social Media.
  • - Self-motivated and highly organized.
