Intern for Ramboll Management Consulting, Societal Impact & Policy

Copenhagen, Denmark

Do you want to change the world and move businesses and societies in a sustainable direction – and help build resilient societies equipped to handle future challenges? Do you want to push the boundaries of your profession and develop your excellence in an open, collaborative, and empowering culture while being part of our journey to create a globally leading consultancy within sustainability and strategy?

Bring your interest in strategy, sustainability, M&A, transformations, and business development into play as you help deliver integrated and sustainable solutions as a management consulting intern. In this position, you will gain insights into a global consultancy while obtaining solid knowledge of what it takes to be a management consultant.

We are passionate about the green transition, circular economy, sustainable finance, social sustainability, and building resilient societies that can adapt and thrive amid uncertainty. We specialise in business and sustainability consulting within various sectors such as energy, infrastructure, construction, manufacturing, waste, and water, and we advise private companies and the public sector. In doing so, we provide sustainability strategies, financial advisory, and implementation plans as a one-stop shop for our clients. We believe that the true value of our offerings arises from the ability to combine traditional business and strategy consulting with true sustainability expertise within the same team to provide one coherent solution addressing both issues at once.

If this sounds like you, or you’re curious to learn more, then this role could be the perfect opportunity. Join Societal Impact & Policy as our new Intern and work with us to close the gap to a sustainable future.

Your New Role

  • You will contribute to all phases of project delivery—from planning and data collection to data processing, analysis, reporting, and communicating results and solution models.
  • You will be involved in proposal processes and development work, gaining broad insight into the craft of consulting.
  • You will work with a wide range of social science analytical methods—from quantitative data analysis to qualitative and anthropological approaches. We welcome your interest in exploring new methods, applying AI, and more.
  • You will become part of a dynamic and intellectually inspiring team, with room for diversity, a focus on learning, and a healthy dose of humour.

Your New Team

You will be part of Ramboll Management Consulting, Societal Impact & Policy. The Societal Impact & Policy team is dedicated to supporting societal transformation through strategic advice and data-driven insights for decision-makers and policy professionals. We provide comprehensive services that include analysis, evidence mapping, evaluations, stakeholder engagement facilitation, policy, and strategic planning for public and private clients. Our focus is on contributing positively to society, fostering resilience, and driving development across various sectors such as foundations, the built environment, transport, and energy. The team's expertise covers a broad range of topics including social sustainability, societal transitions, health, education, and quality of life.

As a management consulting intern at Ramboll, you'll join a dynamic team that works across disciplines like strategy, sustainability, M&A, public policy, organisational transformation, and business development. Interns engage in projects involving data collection, stakeholder analysis, impact assessments, and implementation planning, acquiring practical experience with modern consulting tools and methodologies. The team values diverse academic backgrounds, welcoming students from fields such as economics, political science, sociology, anthropology, public administration, environmental studies, law, and business. Ramboll's consultancy services span sectors like energy, infrastructure, construction, manufacturing, waste, and water, advising various clients including municipalities, ministries, NGOs, and private companies. We provide integrated solutions, combining sustainability expertise with strategic insight to navigate complexity and drive impactful outcomes.

About You

From the moment you start at Ramboll Management Consulting, we will support your personal and professional development so that you can continue to grow with the company. Whilst we look forward to supporting your continued learning and development, for this role, we have identified some qualifications, skills, and capabilities that will set you up for success.

These Include:

  • Currently studying or about to begin your graduate studies or relevant higher education, typically within business, economics, sustainability, or engineering
  • Among the best in your class

  • A structured approach with strong analytical and conceptual capabilities
  • Ability to think strategically, have a high level of abstraction, and the ability to put yourself in the client’s shoes
  • Ability to work independently, but at the same time be a team player
  • Experience in using PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
