Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Product Operations Manager to join the team in our Indigo Kanata store, located in Ottawa, Canada. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient movement of products throughout their lifecycle, from receiving to sales floor placement. You will lead a team to ensure operational excellence, optimize visual merchandising, and drive customer satisfaction.

  • Manage and motivate a team to ensure operational excellence and profitable movement of goods throughout the product lifecycle
  • Analyze sales performance and key process scorecard data to improve efficiency and effectiveness of product flow processes
  • Develop and implement action plans to address gaps in operational performance
  • Lead visual merchandising efforts, including regular assessments and implementation of home office initiatives
  • Oversee all aspects of product flow, including back-of-house management, sales floor promotional setups, and markdown processes
  • Collaborate with store leadership to react to sales trends and customer demands, maximizing margin rates
  • Champion customer-centric decision-making processes and anticipate customer needs
  • Lead the store's health and safety committee, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and procedures
  • Manage opening and closing procedures for the store
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2-3 years of management experience in retail or multi-unit business environment
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to build and develop high-performing teams
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in inventory management systems
  • Experience with visual merchandising and store layout optimization
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods and lift items up to 40 pounds using appropriate equipment and techniques
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and retail-specific software
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
