You Will Work With

• This role is a key part of the Enterprise ERP Platforms Team, providing technical leadership in SAP S/4HANA platform design, architecture, and deployment strategies. You will collaborate with enterprise architects, Functional teams, security architects, cloud engineers, business stakeholders, and external technology partners to ensure the scalability, resilience, and security of SAP S/4HANA, ECC, BW, BTP and SAP SaaS environments.

Let Me Tell You About the Role

• As a Team Manager for SAP BTP Basis, you will lead the delivery and operational strategy for SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), and SaaS tenant landscapes. Your role will ensure alignment with enterprise technology roadmaps and RISE with SAP principles.
• You will define and oversee the implementation of SAP Public Cloud infrastructure, including hybrid deployment models, migration frameworks including Neo to Cloud Foundry, and integration patterns across on-prem and cloud environments.
• This position requires deep expertise in SAP cloud architecture, Basis operations, platform performance optimisation, security hardening, and automation tooling. You will drive modernisation initiatives, guide cross-functional stakeholders, and ensure that SAP BTP and S/4HANA platforms are robust, scalable, and compliant with future enterprise needs.

What You Will Deliver

• Manage team’s work pipeline, prioritisation, and delivery across BTP platform activities including line and activity management of people
• Administer SAP BTP tenant and SaaS product cockpits
• Operate BTP services: Portal, Security, SAP HANA, UX
• Support and configure: SAP Cloud Identity, SAP Analytics Cloud, S/4HANA Public Cloud, Integration Suite, Concur, Fieldglass, Ariba, EnableNow/WalMe, Qualtrics, SAP eCommerce
• Perform daily BTP tasks:
• Implement SAP Fiori lifecycle
• Maintain stakeholder relationships and service level commitments
• Drive automation across the service lifecycle and Joule AI set up supporting the development of an end to end Tools Chain for the ERP landscape
• Collaborate with business/key users to resolve BTP issues
• Build and maintain DevOps automation scripts
• Work across multiple squads with varied priorities
• Contribute to technical landscape design and configuration
• Identify, manage, and report platform risks
• Deliver using Agile methodology and tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps
• Connection setup, user/security management
• Fiori app build/configuration
• API management and UI custom builds
• Trust, OAuth, and authorisation setup
• Manual and CI/CD-based deployments

What You Will Need to Be Successful (Experience and Qualifications)

Essential

• Holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Brings 12+ years of progressive experience in SAP platform architecture, Basis administration, and cloud ERP delivery, with a strong foundation in SuSE Linux-based SAP landscapes and tools such as Cloud ALM, CTMS, Full CHaRM, Focused Run, and Solution Manager.
• Experienced in managing geographically distributed teams and third-party vendors in agile delivery environments, ensuring alignment, accountability, and delivery at scale.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing cross-functional technical teams, with accountability for delivering complex SAP platform projects and ensuring stable, secure, and optimised operations.
• Deep expertise in SAP S/4HANA architecture, RISE with SAP (Public and Private Cloud), hybrid deployment models, and cloud migration strategies.
• Proven capability in SAP security, IAM, RBAC, and audit compliance, ensuring platforms meet enterprise-grade security and regulatory standards.
• Strong background in SAP HANA performance tuning, system optimisation, and lifecycle management.
• Experienced in deploying and operating SAP workloads on Azure, AWS, and GCP, including cloud-native networking, firewalling, and security controls.
• Accountable for defining and implementing HA/DR strategies, backup solutions, and failover mechanisms for mission-critical SAP systems.
• Leads the adoption of automation and DevOps practices across SAP platforms, including Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (ADO).
• Skilled in stakeholder engagement, with the ability to influence and align technical delivery with business priorities across senior leadership and global teams.
• Applies modern service delivery models such as Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) alongside traditional ITIL frameworks to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
• Recognised for high emotional intelligence (EQ), strong communication skills, and the ability to lead through complexity and change.

Desired

• SAP Certifications in SAP S/4HANA & BTP Architecture, SAP Basis, or SAP Cloud Deployment.
• Experience with SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) and advanced SAP integration strategies.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust Security models for SAP environments.
• Exposure to AI/ML-driven SAP system monitoring and predictive analytics.
• Prior experience in highly regulated industries such as energy, finance, or manufacturing.
