Mandatory internship in R&D - Optics & Mechanics (Waldkirch (near Freiburg), Waldkirch (near Freiburg), Waldkirch (near Freiburg), Waldkirch )

Summer Semester 2026 – limited to 3–6 months

Your Tasks:

• Support the optical and mechanical product development of 2D & 3D vision sensors, including camera systems, barcode readers, and connectivity devices
• Focus on one of the topic areas according to your interests and strengths
• Set up measurement systems and program related process controls using MATLAB or Arduino
• Conduct tests, evaluate tolerances, and create documentation
• Analyze results and visualizations with MATLAB
• Design and document precision engineering assemblies and components

Your Profile:

• You are studying Optics & Photonics, Mechatronics, Physics, Microsystems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable degree program
• Ideally, you bring knowledge in one or more of the following areas: MATLAB, Arduino, tools for optical, thermal, or structural simulations, or CAD
• You work independently with a solution-oriented mindset
• You enjoy working in an interdisciplinary team
• Strong communication skills and a spirit of innovation round off your profile
