Senior Project Engineer (Kenilworth, NJ)
Doka USA Ltd. seeks a Senior Project Engineer (Kenilworth, NJ) to evaluate technical solutions utilizing standard formwork systems and custom solutions. Create design calculations using the fundamentals of engineering and principals of design. Use numerical methods to analyze structural models. Visualize the path of applied loads and validate safe engineered solutions for special application and provide a comprehensive static design package. Provide guidance to project teams and the customer regarding forming solutions and respond to questions concerning equipment usage. Work with project teams on CAD drawings, BIM Models during the proposal stage and finalize working drawings for Doka forming systems. Ensure that the drawings indicate the proper use of Doka forming equipment and that the drawings represent safe, economical and efficient designs. Partner with customers, sales and operations departments while managing jobs to satisfy project demands during preliminary project planning to project completion. Support branches by determining appropriate formwork solutions that meet the customer’s needs which are economical and comply with safety and regulatory guidelines. Ensure that the policies, procedures, programs, standards of performance and compliance are adhered to. Monitor conformance with contractual guidelines. Visit job sites as required, identify any improper implementation and take action to ensure technical solutions are immediately implemented. Service the job site for the correct use of formwork systems in the absence of a service advisor. Ensure safe working practices and a safe working environment. Participate in company committees/teams. Schedule project tasks to meet deadlines. Local telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week. 5% domestic travel required.

SALARY: $85,000 to $95,000 per year.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field and 4 years of experience in the design of Formwork or Scaffolding for vertical and horizontal loads for Infrastructure and High Rise applications. Must have experience with: Analyzing Self Climbing Formwork systems for different stages of the climbing process; Numerical Static Methods (preferred Dlubal R-STAB); CAD or BIM software including ACAD 3d or Revit; Writing formal submittal documents and documentations and answering RFI; Computer applications including Microsoft Office suite; US regulations, local and national codes, legislation and trends impacting the formwork industry especially: ACI-347R-14, AASHTO Design specification for bridge temporary works, ASCE 7-16, AISC 360-16, and OSHA 1910; Articulating load paths, analyzing governing load combinations and identifying failure modes within static documentation and submittals; and Submitting static documentation. 5% domestic travel required.
