Position Type: Full-Time (37.5+ hours/week), Non-Exempt

Work Setting: Fully Onsite

Reports To: Director of Aging Connections and Director of Serving Our Survivors

Pay Range: $23.50-$25/hour

Position Overview:

JFS is looking for a compassionate, mission-driven individual to join the Center for Jewish Care team as the Program Specialist. This position is a key member of the Center for Jewish Care management team, providing administrative and analytical support to the Director’s and their staff. The CJC Program Specialist will play a supportive role with contracts and grant compliance by tracking and analyzing data from financial and client data reports. This position requires strong problem- solving abilities through a solution focused lens.

Responsibilities:

  • Submit invoices for payment into the accounting portal
  • Establish a process for reviewing program budgets with Directors monthly
  • Review and maintain confidential client and financial reports for accuracy
  • Provide monitoring of program contract milestones and reporting requirements
  • Assist with contractual compliance
  • Support research and analysis requests from Directors
  • Schedule in person and virtual meetings as requested
  • Assist programs with procurement needs
  • Assist in other programmatic needs
  • Analyze current processes and provide input about streamlining
  • Fulfill administrative work for Directors and programs as needed
  • Attend meetings and take minutes
  • Other duties as assigned by Directors

Skills/Experience/Abilities That Are A Must-Have:

  • Exceptional strategic, analytical, and critical thinking abilities
  • Exceptional understanding and use of MS Office Suite
  • Exceptional organization, time management, and attention to detail
  • Strong ability to respect confidential information within data & reports
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (e.g., memos, reports, e-mails, agendas, minutes)
  • Experience working with the Jewish community preferred
  • Creative, innovative thinker who embraces change and is adaptable
  • Experience with management of processes and systems
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as memos, general clerical documents, project and grant reports
  • Sensitivity in human interactions to diversity and inclusiveness
  • Familiarity with person centered trauma informed approach

Skills/Abilities We’d Like You to Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Two years of experience working in an office support role to a team of staff preferred
  • Bi-lingual preferred

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to

  • Sit, talk and listen 
  • Stand, walk and use hands and arms to use a keyboard, handle papers, and reach for the phone 
  • Occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl 
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds 
  • Concentration and good hearing are required 
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
