Job Description
CEDA is looking to hire a Foreman for our structural welding shop in Bonnyville Alberta. Candidates must be local to Bonnyville or willing to relocate.
The Foreman is responsible for supervising day-to-day welding and fabrication activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to quality and safety standards. This role requires strong leadership, a deep understanding of structural welding practices, and the ability to manage a team of welders and fabricators effectively.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all activities of welders, fitters, and fabricators.
- Assign tasks and monitor productivity, ensuring work meets specifications and deadlines.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
- Ensure all welding activities comply with company procedures and quality standards.
- Conduct inspections to verify work quality and adherence to safety policies.
- Communicate project updates, issues, and resource needs to management.
- Provide hands-on support when necessary, including welding and fitting.
- Train and mentor junior staff, promoting a strong team culture.
- Maintain accurate records of production, attendance, materials, and incidents.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a structural welding/fabrication shop environment.
- Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
- Extensive knowledge and proven experience in the programming and operation of waterjet cutting tables, complemented by proficiency in the setup and utilization of various bandsaw models and press brake equipment for precision metal fabrication
- Journeyman Welder Certification required.
- CWB certifications required
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques (MIG, TIG, SMAW) and structural steel fabrication.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and welding symbols.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Forklift, overhead crane, or other relevant certifications are an asset.
