Internship Overview
As a Credit Underwriting Intern, you will gain hands-on exposure to the fundamentals of credit analysis, underwriting processes, and risk management within consumer lending. You will work directly with our underwriting, analytics, and operations teams to evaluate borrower profiles, assess creditworthiness, and learn how technology is shaping modern lending practices.
This is a structured internship designed to give you practical skills, mentorship, and project-based experience in credit underwriting and financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct preliminary analysis on applicant creditworthiness using company tools and models.
- Help identify patterns and red flags in borrower data that may impact loan decisions.
- Support development of borrower profiles, scorecards, and risk summaries.
- Partner with analytics team to measure underwriting performance and portfolio health.
- Participate in case studies and mock credit committee discussions.
- Collaborate on special projects related to improving underwriting efficiency and accuracy.
- Document underwriting processes and prepare reports for management.

Qualifications
- Current undergraduate or graduate student in Finance, Economics, Business, Statistics, Accounting, or related field.
- Junior/Senior or Masters Student
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with financial statements and credit concepts preferred.
- Proficiency with Excel; exposure to SQL, Python, or data tools is a plus.
- Interest in fintech, consumer lending, and credit risk management.
Additional Information
- Mentorship: Interns will be paired with a mentor from the credit team and will present a project at the end of the program.
