The Role You'Ll Play
You're a natural storyteller with a nose for news and a love of language. In this role, you’ll drive earned media strategies across the Playlist brand family, focusing primarily on ClassPass. From buzzy product launches to proactive data storytelling and smart crisis response, you’ll shape the public voice of the brand and build strong, authentic relationships along the way.
- Partner with agency teams and internal stakeholders to craft smart, creative PR strategies that drive meaningful coverage across consumer, business, lifestyle, and trade press
- Lead media efforts for ClassPass campaigns, product rollouts, partnerships, and brand storytelling initiatives
- Cultivate strong relationships with key journalists, editors, influencers, and thought leaders
- Guide agency partners, ensuring consistent messaging, smart strategy, and high-quality results
- Create high-impact media materials including press releases, pitches, and executive talking points
- Prepare senior leaders for media moments and speaking engagements with thoughtful briefings and message alignment
- Monitor the cultural and industry landscape to identify timely, relevant storytelling opportunities
- Support crisis comms efforts with clear, strategic, and fast-moving guidance
The Experience You Bring
- 4–5 years in PR or communications, either agency-side or in-house, with strong media and strategy chops
- Proven success securing top-tier coverage across consumer, lifestyle, business, or tech media
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a sharp editorial instinct and eye for brand voice
- A calm, strategic mindset when navigating fast-moving situations or reputational challenges
- Experience supporting executive visibility and thought leadership
- Strong project management skills and a proactive, get-it-done attitude
- A collaborative spirit, with the ability to work seamlessly across teams and time zones
- Data fluency and a comfort with metrics to evaluate success and optimize strategies

The goal of Playlist’s compensation program is to be transparent, attract potential employees, meet the needs of all current employees, and encourage Team Members to stay with our organization.
Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
The base salary range for this position in the United States is $75,000 to $95,000. The total compensation package for this position may also include performance bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
