The Office of the CRO team
Within the Office of the CRO, our mission is to take Okta from $2B to $5B. We are responsible for defining, championing, and landing our GTM strategy – in partnership with our Go-To-Market, Product, Operations, and Executive teams. As a member of our team, you’ll have an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while shaping the future of Okta. We’re builders and owners who embrace the power of collaboration and growth mindset.
The Lead, Field AI Strategy opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead of Field AI Strategy within the Office of the CRO. Reporting to the Chief of Staff to the CRO, this person will own and drive our Field AI roadmap — sourcing high-impact use cases from within the Field, piloting solutions, and scaling those that deliver measurable impact – and stand up/scale the Field “AI Center of Excellence” within the OCRO. Our ideal candidate combines the strategic vision of a product manager with the executional excellence of a program manager – with expertise in Go-to-Market teams.
What you’ll be doing
- Shape our Field AI Strategy: Define our strategy and prioritized roadmap to improve field productivity and customer experience through the use of AI
- Orchestrate Roadmap Execution: Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of projects prioritized on the Field AI roadmap
- Drive Cross-Functional Alignment
- Measure Success: Define and analyze key metrics for ‘use case’ success (e.g., user adoption, satisfaction, revenue) and program success (e.g., ROI, on-time delivery). Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and guide the program's direction.
- Stand up the Field ‘AI Center of Excellence’ within the Office of the CRO, which will act as central hub and driver of Field AI roadmap (with use cases by user group)
- Source high-impact AI use cases by user group (Sales, Presales, Partner, Enablement) in partnership with Field SMEs and key cross-functional teams (Corp AI, Business Technology, GTM S&O, Enablement, and others)
- Stay ahead of latest trends and evolutions in AI to ensure roadmap brings in best-in-class, while maintaining compliance with corporate standards
- Responsible for defining scope, managing dependencies, mitigating risks, and ensuring the program is delivered on time and within budget
- Lead incubation cycles in partnership with centralized team and end-user groups: pilot, test, fail fast, and scale successful prototypes into Field-ready solutions
- Run cross-functional steering committee and alignment processes for selected initiatives, securing buy-in from relevant teams
- Partner with technical and operational teams to ensure pilots are grounded in enterprise requirements and real user needs
- Act as the central hub and connector between Field COE and end-user groups, and with central teams (Corporate AI strategy, Business Technology, GTM Strategy & Ops)
- Articulate the program's strategy, goals, and progress to key stakeholders, providing clear updates and managing expectations effectively
What you’ll bring to the role & what we’re looking for
- Minimum of 8+ years experience, ideally in Business Operations, Innovation, Strategy and/or Product Management roles
- Past experience with GTM / Field teams required
- Product Management, complex Program Management, or Consulting background preferred
- Past experience with AI tools (Gemini, ChatGPT, Conversational Intelligence, SFDC, etc) required, ideally as applied in GTM context
- ‘Product Manager’ mindset: Proven ability to think strategically, define a compelling ‘product’ vision, and maintain a deep sense of user empathy throughout the development process. Can define success metrics, scope MVPs, manage pilots, and think like a product manager even if not formally in PM roles
- Builder: Proven track record incubating new initiatives or products from scratch by working across multiple stakeholder/end-user groups in high-ambiguity environments
- Expert Execution: Strong ability to proactively manage complex, interconnected projects, identify and mitigate risks, and clear roadblocks for your teams, and ensure on-time delivery
- Influential Leader: Exceptional communication and executive presence, with a demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
- Field Acumen: Strong understanding of the B2B IT/Software customer journey and GTM teams (with an emphasis on Sales, Presales, Partners)
- Prioritization and Decision-Making: The ability to make tough trade-offs and prioritize features based on customer value, business impact, and technical feasibility
- Technical Awareness: Solid understanding of the AI technology stack and technical development processes to effectively engage Operations, Business Technology, Security, and Product
