Associate Specialist, Trade Processing

About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Specialist, Trade Processing to join our Operations team at RHB Banking Group. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of our trade finance operations—both conventional and Islamic. Your responsibilities will span across reviewing and updating operational documentation, managing system governance, supporting automation initiatives, and ensuring timely reconciliation and reporting processes. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement efforts and drive operational excellence in a fast-paced banking environment.

What you will be doing

• Review and update SOPs, process manuals, and workflow documentation for both conventional and Islamic trade finance operations
• Compile and analyze operational data and performance reports to support process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives
• Manage user access reviews and administration for trade finance systems, ensuring compliance with governance and control requirements
• Perform reconciliation of GL entries, accounts, and transactional records, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting to Finance
• Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency
• Oversee trade-related tools and service subscriptions, ensuring timely renewals, effective vendor coordination, and continuity of critical services
• Support RPA email blast-related activities, annual outsourcing submission, ORM tool reviews, and operational risk reporting exercises
• Undertake any other tasks or assignments as directed by management to support evolving business or operational priorities

What we're looking for

• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in trade finance operations, banking, or related fields
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with large volumes of data
• Familiarity with trade finance systems and related regulatory or compliance frameworks
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Proactive, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning and improvement
