In This Role, You'Ll:

Work as part of the Hunter Bridges team delivering core maintenance work on state road bridges in the Hunter region, as well as the maintenance for some heritage timber bridges on local roads.

This role will see you use your carpentry trade skills to complete maintenance and rehabilitation projects on the bridges, which could be concrete, steel or timber.

You'll perform a range of manual and technical tasks, contribute to ongoing projects, and support safety, quality and environmental outcomes.

We currently have multiple opportunities available at two depots - Beresfield and Waratah. At times there may be a need to camp away, work night shift or work shorter or longer days to accommodate project needs.

About You

Your hands-on carpentry experience and strong safety focus, developed across construction or maintenance roles, will see you deliver high-quality work and support team outcomes.

You're recognised as a skilled and reliable tradesperson, experienced in using tools, solving problems on the job, and working in physically demanding environments.

Any experience working specifically on bridge construction or maintenance will be highly regarded, although not essential.

Essential Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent
  • Construction Industry White Card
  • Current Australian driver licence (min. P1)
  • Willingness to complete any required licences or tickets.
