Job Overview
The Tax Director will lead OmniOn Power’s global tax strategy, compliance, and risk management across a global footprint that includes manufacturing, R&D, distribution, and IP management entities. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role partners closely with Finance, Legal, Treasury, and Operations leadership to optimize the global effective tax rate, ensure compliance with evolving international regulations, and proactively identify planning opportunities.
The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking tax leader with deep expertise in international corporate taxation, including US CFC structures, transfer pricing, and cross-border structuring, capable of balancing technical rigor with commercial pragmatism.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the company’s global tax strategy in alignment with business objectives, including supply chain optimization, cash repatriation, and IP planning.
- Advise leadership team on tax implications of M&A, reorganizations, and capital investments.
- Lead global Pillar Two readiness, monitoring OECD and local jurisdiction changes.
- Drive proactive tax risk management and governance frameworks across all jurisdictions.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure accurate and timely global tax compliance: corporate income tax, indirect tax (Sales & Use/VAT/GST/IST), withholding, and other jurisdictional levies.
- Oversee preparation and review of global tax provisions, deferred tax calculations, and effective tax rate forecasting under IFRS/US GAAP.
- Ensure compliance with OECD BEPS, CbCR, FATCA, and other transparency initiatives.
- Establish and maintain strong controls consistent with SOX and internal audit requirements.
Transfer Pricing
- Design, implement, and defend global transfer pricing policies, including DEMPE analysis for R&D and IP entities.
- Monitor intercompany transactions across manufacturing, distribution, and services to ensure compliance with local TP documentation and safe harbors.
- Partner with Supply Chain and Operations to evaluate customs duty planning, trade agreements, and cross-border structuring.
Leadership & Team Development
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing global tax team (direct and indirect).
- Manage external tax advisors and audit relationships, driving efficiency and value creation.
- Create a tax center of excellence to streamline processes, leverage technology, and promote knowledge sharing.
As part of the global finance team, ability to work flexible hours is necessary, including with countries in different time zones.

Basic Qualifications:
- CPA, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field is required.
- 15+ years progressive corporate tax experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role in a multinational company or Big 4/large advisory firm
- Proven track record of managing global tax operations in a complex manufacturing/R&D/distribution environment.
- Strong expertise in international tax planning, transfer pricing, and cross-border structuring.
Desired Characteristics
- Fluency in Chinese strongly desired
- Experience leading tax technology initiatives (ERP integration, tax engines, data automation) a strong plus.
- Strategic thinker with excellent technical tax knowledge and business acumen.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, influence senior leadership, and drive decisions.
- Detail-oriented while maintaining focus on the big picture.
