Responsibilities
- Strategy & Growth
- Define and drive a bold vision for public health data systems; translate market trends (e.g., TEFCA adoption) into NextGen offerings and revenue growth.
- Partner across business units and Growth/Ops teams to retain and expand clients; lead major pursuits, proposals, and pitches.
- Portfolio & Delivery
- Lead a multimillion-dollar portfolio of government contracts; ensure delivery excellence, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
- Oversee program health, staffing, risk/issue management, and compliance across complex, secure, integrated data environments.
- Client & Market Leadership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior public health leaders; turn pain points into scalable solutions and long-term partnerships.
- Publish and speak on health data modernization and interoperability; elevate Altarum’s presence in industry forums.
- Team & Culture
- Build and mentor a high-performing, cross-functional team; forecast skills, recruit strategically, and develop talent.
- Foster a transparent, inclusive, collaborative culture aligned with Altarum’s DEIA principles.
- Execute & Influence
- Operate with an entrepreneurial mindset; adapt quickly to change, seize opportunities, and communicate with clarity and energy.
- Leverage internal and external networks to advance objectives and integrated growth.
- Expand Our Capabilities: Data Science & AI/ML
- Integrate advanced analytics, forecasting, and MLOps into PHS solutions to enhance surveillance, program evaluation, and decision support.
- Champion responsible AI (governance, privacy, bias mitigation) and operationalize ML pipelines that use standards-based data (HL7, FHIR) across partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Business preferred.
- 10+ years in public health IT leading both growth and delivery for federal/state clients.
- Hands-on experience with RESTful API development and health information exchange standards (TEFCA, HL7, FHIR).
- Proven ability to interpret interoperability policy and data/security regulations; contribute in industry workgroups.
- Track record selling and delivering complex data or SaaS offerings; success winning large, sophisticated proposals.
- Financial and portfolio management acumen; systems thinker who solves problems in durable, creative ways.
- Cross-functional collaborator and relationship builder; able to assume ownership of key customer relationships.
Logistical Requirements
- At this time, we will only accept candidates who are presently eligible to work in the United States and will not require sponsorship.
- Our organization requires that all work, for the duration of your employment, must be completed in the continental U.S. unless required by contract.
- If you are local to our offices in Arlington, Silver Spring or Novi, this role will be remote with occasional in-office collaboration days.
- Must be able to work during eastern time unless approved by your manager.
- Employees working remotely must have a dedicated, ergonomically appropriate workspace free from distractions with a mobile device that allows for productive and efficient conduct of business.
