Preventative Maintenance Technician
Overview
As a Preventative Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and availability of test equipment within Rivian’s Energy Storage System (ESS) labs. By executing scheduled maintenance tasks, you will minimize downtime, extend equipment lifespan, and enable engineers to focus on high-value testing and analysis activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on test equipment used in ESS labs.
- Pick up and execute NB Expansion preventative maintenance (PM) tasks.
- Inspect, calibrate, and service lab equipment according to maintenance schedules.
- Document all maintenance activities, findings, and corrective actions in a structured manner.
- Identify early signs of equipment wear or malfunction and escalate as needed.
- Collaborate with engineers and lab managers to coordinate downtime for scheduled maintenance.
- Support continuous improvement of lab PM procedures and tracking systems.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with lab safety and equipment handling standards.
Qualifications
- Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent hands-on experience in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in preventative maintenance, equipment servicing, or calibration.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems relevant to test equipment.
- Ability to follow technical manuals, schematics, and standard operating procedures.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good documentation practices and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in R&D labs, automotive, aerospace, or energy storage environments.
- Familiarity with battery testing equipment and lab instrumentation.
- Basic knowledge of equipment calibration and validation practices.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple PM tasks.
- Proactive mindset with focus on reliability, safety, and efficiency.
Salary Range: $65,000-$90,000
The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
