Amazon Web Services is looking for a Senior Technical Infrastructure Program Manager- Material Development to lead the development and implementation of innovative infrastructure materials that support one of the world's largest cloud computing platforms. The role is responsible for creating and executing a material product management roadmap, managing development relationships with manufacturers, establishing development systems, and driving the standardization of approved materials globally.
Key job responsibilities
• Serve as a key member of the GCID team helping to drive overall infrastructure materials strategy through product development management efforts
• Identify gaps in existing product lines and develop business cases around them for manufacturer partner development support
• Lead manufacturer relationships to engage development of new products, establish volume forecasts, and maintain quality standards
• Develop and maintain the GCID Product Development workflow and manage the approval process for new development initiatives
• Create and standardize material qualification processes and provide regular updates on development programs to management and stakeholders
• Manage the product review council and coordinate approval processes for new product submissions
• Lead prototyping and pilot programs leveraging manufacturer R&D for new infrastructure materials
• Run technical reviews of manufacturer development progress, create and maintain development timelines, and keep stakeholders informed of status
• Monitor market trends and emerging technologies to inform material development strategy
• Coordinate with manufactures and field teams to gather feedback and validate material performance and any needed improvements
• Anticipate supply chain challenges, manage risk and escalations, and balance technical requirements versus business constraints
• Coordinate with materials procurement and standards team to ensure successful handoff of new products
• Regularly updates Global Senior management
• 25-40% Travel
• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of product management or material development experience
• Knowledge of infrastructure materials and connectivity solutions
• Experience with material qualification and testing processes
• Experience with fiber optic technologies and infrastructure materials
• Demonstrated background in product management and roadmap development
• Proficiency with material testing and qualification procedures
• Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation and specifications
• Understanding of supply chain management and manufacturing processes

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The Colorado base pay for this position ranges from $148,700/year up to $201,200/year. The National base pay for this position ranges from $133,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
