- Instruction for our Spring Semester begins on January 5, 2026, and ends on April 26, 2026 – Final Course Grades are due on May 3, 2026
Course: Family Dynamics & Comm Ed - Treatment of Addiction & Substance Use Disorders
This course focuses on understanding the family dynamics of addiction. In addition, students learn the importance of working with community and prevention programs in addressing addiction and substance use disorders on a broader level. Skill in presenting educational topics pertaining to addiction and substance use disorders are developed.
What You Will Do:
- Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions
- Engage students in learning course objectives and topics
- Assess student performance and mentor success in the classroom
- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University
What You Will Bring:
- Master’s (or higher) in Professional Counseling OR
- Mental Health Counseling OR
- Addiction Counseling OR
- Clinical Psychology OR
- Marriage and Family Therapy
- AND currently licensed as an Independent Substance Abuse Counselor OR
- AND 2 years of clinical experience in addictions
- Exceptions may be granted to individuals with a current Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or current Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor or current Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Counselor AND 2 years of clinical experience in addictions AND Master’s or Doctorate in any related field
- Marriage and Family Therapy Counselor
